HAMPTON, NH (March 28, 2024) - Operation Hat Trick (OHT), an innovative non-profit supporting the recovery of wounded service members and veterans, has earned a 2024 Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest level of recognition offered by GuideStar, the world’s largest objective source of information about nonprofit organizations.

OHT has earned a Platinum Seal of Transparency Rating from GuideStar - its highest ranking - every year since 2019. The nonprofit is ranked in the top 0.1% of all charities nationally for transparency and operational effectiveness.

"OHT has always believed in being fully transparent about every aspect of the organization, including how it’s run and the impact we are making,” said Dot Sheehan, Founder and CEO of OHT. “We’re passionate about consistently earning trust and building belief within our entire community. GuideStar neutrally validates excellence for those interested in supporting this vital cause.”

GuideStar’s Nonprofit Profiles was created to share detailed financial and operational information about nonprofits with donors, foundations and corporations. It is used to determine an organization’s qualifications for a GuideStar Seal of Transparency. Nonprofits can earn Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum, depending on the amount and quality of information they share.

Dedicated to Nate Hardy and Mike Koch, two Navy SEALs who were killed in Iraq in 2008 and are buried side by side at Arlington National Cemetery, OHT never forgets their sacrifice.

Operation Hat Trick’s innovative operational business model is clearly differentiated from other veteran-focused nonprofits. OHT pioneered the first national philanthropic, co-branded, cause marketing retail apparel licensing program in America. Instead of relying on donations, OHT raises money by selling distinctive headwear and apparel, receiving a royalty from every product purchase. More than 500 American universities and colleges proudly display their logos with OHT’s on co-branded merchandise. Many businesses, NHL, NBA and MiLB teams are also active supporters.

Operation Hat Trick products are available via leading online retailers such as Fanatics, Colosseum and Amazon as well as national retailers including Cracker Barrel, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Academy Sports & Outdoors, Kohl’s, Lids, Scheels and more.
