1940's Women Air Force Service Pilots: The Wasps

In 1943, American women took to the skies during World War II. As part of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) program, women flew B-26 and B-29 bombers, tested new and repaired planes and towed targets for gunners in the air using live ammunition.
