OHT Announces Donation To Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans

March 2017 –Duluth, MN Operation Hat Trick is pleased to announce a recent donation to the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) for the second year in a row. This donation will be made in Duluth, MN thanks to a partnership between OHT, AAR Corporation, the University of Minnesota Duluth, and KBJR TV.

In 2016 OHT donated $10,000 to MACV through this partnership in Duluth and is proud to donate another $10,000 this year. This year we were lucky enough to have the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) and AAR Corporation as local supporters. Josh Berlo, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at UMD, and Brian Nystrom, Director of Marketing and Corporate Relations at UMD, were extremely supportive of the OHT cause. The OHT branded hats were designed to incorporate the UMD colors and Bulldog mascot for local buzz. OHT, with the help of Mark Ketterer (VP of Operations at AAR) and AAR Corporation will be donating another $10,000 in 2017.

“When the opportunity was presented to me to have AAR sponsor Operation Hat Trick, I jumped at the opportunity. Over 30% of AAR’s Duluth workforce are veterans and we couldn’t be more proud of them. What a great organization MACV is, and the work it does for our Veterans is simply amazing. We all see the pictures of wounded vets returning from war, but forget about the ones who show no visible signs of the battles they faced and are facing today. Returning to the civilian life is no easy task for many our veterans and AAR is just so thankful to be able to support an organization that helps ease that transition.” - Mark Ketterer, VP of Operations at AAR

“I am so honored and grateful to be able to be a part of such an amazing program and help veterans in our area. To be able to give back to individuals who fight for us every day is extremely rewarding and humbling. Operation Hat Trick and ’47 brand do amazing things for our nation’s heroes, it is nice to share a little bit of what they do with our community.” –Mackenzie Joyce

"Operation Hat Trick is very proud of the promotion at KBJR and their commitment to Operation Hat Trick. With the proceeds from this special program, the generous support of AAR Corporation and additional monies from OHT, we are able to donate another $10,000 this year to the Minnesota Veterans Alliance in Duluth where it will be used for their homeless veterans program and for those who continue to recover from visible and invisible injuries. Our partnership allows us to make a difference, one veteran at a time." -Dot Sheehan, President/CEO of Operation Hat Trick

OHT generates awareness, support and funding for the recovery of America’s wounded service members and veterans. OHT pursues these goals through the sale of OHT branded merchandise, proceeds of which are distributed to selected organizations supporting the OHT mission.
