Operation Hat Trick Donates to the MN Assistance Council for Veterans

Jan 2016 –Hampton, NH Operation Hat Trick is pleased to announce a recent donation to the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV). This donation will be made in Duluth, MN thanks to a partnership between OHT, Monaco Air and KBJR TV.

In the spring of 2015, KBJR TV learned about Operation Hat Trick through one of their employees, Mackenzie Joyce. Mackenzie has deep roots in New Hampshire where OHT began. Almost immediately after OHT was introduced to the station, they presented this program to a local Duluth business, Monaco Air. Don Monaco, Owner of Monaco Air, is very involved in Veterans affairs in the Duluth community and loved the idea of bringing OHT to Duluth. With that, Monaco Air and KBJR TV teamed up and through the sale of branded baseball caps, raised and continues to raise money for veterans served through MACV’s Duluth regional office.

“Monaco Air is pleased to have been part of this program which allowed us to help our local veterans who so richly deserve our thanks and gratitude for all they have done for us.” -Don Monaco

“I am so honored and grateful to be able to be a part of such an amazing program and help veterans in our area. To be able to give back to individuals who fight for us every day is extremely rewarding and humbling. Operation Hat Trick and ’47 brand do amazing things for our nation’s heroes, it is nice to share a little bit of what they do with our community.” –Mackenzie Joyce

“This has been an amazing partnership. What an honor to be part of this National Program that has found a way to give at the grassroots level and benefit our Duluth Area veterans. The term Active Citizenship implies working towards the betterment of one's community through economic participation, public service, volunteer work, and efforts to improve life for all citizens. This program has helped all involved be active citizens in the support of our veterans." -Kathleen Vitalis, President/CEO MACV

Passion fuels amazing results. We need to continue to inspire hope in each other so that the change that needs to happen starts with each of us. Our heartfelt thanks to Operation Hat Trick, KBJR TV, and Monaco Air for their support and inspiration. What we all have is a passion for the cause, to serve those that served us first. Together we will continue to assist these veterans who need our help. Thank you for helping us bring these veterans all the way home!

Dot Sheehan, President/CEO and Founder of Operation Hat Trick said, “Operation Hat Trick was excited and honored to be part of this promotion. We are especially proud that MacKenzie Joyce, a University of New Hampshire (where OHT started) alum and former athlete, spearheaded this and made sure it was a success so some veteran needs in her area of Duluth will be taken care of. Thanks to KBJ, Operation Hat Trick was introduced to the Duluth area for the first time. That is very important to us since we are a national organization and want to give back to as many areas around the country as we can. Veterans all over the country have unaddressed needs and OHT is proud to be able to fill some of the “white space” (gaps in care) in Duluth.”

OHT generates awareness, support and funding for the recovery of America’s wounded service members and veterans. OHT pursues these goals through the sale of OHT branded merchandise, proceeds of which are distributed to selected organizations supporting the OHT mission.
