Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA) Teams with Operation Hat Trick

Longmeadow, MA June 1, 2018 – Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA) and Operation Hat Trick (OHT) announce a new partnership to further the cause to which both organizations are committed – that being the support of the rehabilitation and return to active civilian life of the injured veteran who has sacrificed in defense of freedom. The first step in this new association is the immediate award of $12,000 by the OHT Board to support existing HAVA programs which provide hunting and shooting opportunities to recovering veterans. By later in the year, the new HAVA/OHT team is expected to launch several new initiatives including an extension of the reach of the HAVA program into un-served regions and the integration of OHT’s many partnerships to broaden the range of services that can support a broader population of injured warrior’s needs.

“Both HAVA and OHT were started in 2008 to serve injured warriors from a different perspective – HAVA as a shooting sports industry initiative, and OHT as a conduit of public support to the common mission.” Said Tom Taylor, HAVA Chairman. “Now with this new association, we can begin to offer the veteran community a broader selection of services and do it on a larger scale.”

Dot Sheehan, OHT President & CEO added, “HAVA is exactly the type of organization that we seek to help us deliver on our promises to veterans and to make services available to a larger veteran community and speed their integration back into normal family life with a renewed active/zest for life. They are a lean volunteer organization that delivers their services on a personal level that the veteran can accept as a genuine expression of thanks for their service. We think that this is the partner that will help us to continue to expand our mission delivery.”
