ICLA is proud to announce the University of Montana as its 2019 Synergy Award recipient.

Guided by the leadership of Director of Trademarks and Licensing, Erika Palmer, University of Montana Licensing generated record-breaking royalties this past year. UM Licensing released the 1995 copper and gold throwback football jerseys to honor Dave Dickenson, recent National College Football Hall of Fame inductee, quarterback of the ’95 National Championship squad and Walter Payton award winner. Accompanied by the 125th Anniversary of the university, Palmer’s team also coordinated with Big Sky Brewing Co. to craft Griz Montana Lager, which generated over $250,000. Along with the millions of dollars generated, UM Licensing also continued their efforts to protect the UM Griz brand and strengthened UM’s trademark portfolio development.

“The results are in and the ICLA Board of Directors have selected the University of Montana as the 2019 ICLA Synergy Award winner,” exclaimed current ICLA President Adam Parker, associate director, licensing & trademarks at BYU. “Erika Palmer and her team at Montana were nothing short of amazing in 2018. From earning record-breaking royalties, to 125th Anniversary Griz Lager, plus numerous other programs both on and off campus, Montana ran a licensing program that is very deserving of the Synergy Award. Congratulations!”
